Bali - June 2015, pt1

Day 1  - Finally arrived in our favourite place to holiday, Bali.

The Virgin flight was uneventful, landing at 2.30pm, we were excited to be up the front of the plane and be one of the first off. The premium seats meant nothing though, when you are all herded onto a waiting bus to be taken to the terminal, really we were out with our driver by 3.15pm, so can't complain.
I was really surprised by the amount of people that were turned away immigration because they hadn't purchased their entry visa, perhaps airlines should be educating passengers before they disembark.
We had flown in a day earlier than our friends, and thought we had the villa to ourselves, we were pleasantly surprised to find that they actually had the one up on us, and arrived the day before. Plenty of  Bintangs to settle in, I find it always tastes better when you're in Bali, not the same buying it from Dans on the Gold Coast!

We are staying at Villa Sanurita, which is owned by a close friend, we feel privileged to share it with him and his family. It's a great location, Gang 13 just off Jl Mertasari. The villa is lovely, 3 bedrooms all with ensuites and a lounge area that looks out to the pool. The kitchen is well set up, and allows you to feed yourself if you really want to. It is private, quiet and secure, being away from the street, and the local family who live next door are very friendly.
Dinner on Sunday was at Coco Bistro, located on the beach, live music was entertaining and the meals so well priced and delicious. I was happy to enjoy my first Nasi Goreng, and the lime crushes were the best I've had in Sanur.

Day 2 -  was lazy, as holidays should be. Having been here numerous times now, we really use Bali as a relaxing holiday, we don't need to shop like we used to! A lovely breakfast at Gardenia, then some stocking up of staples at Hardies, the rest of the day was spent beside the pool, laughing and catching up. Oh, and there may have been some synchronised swimming involved as well!
Dinner at Cafe Jepun never disappoints, my seafood salad and Nasi Campur had me feeling very full. A quick last minute drink at the Ducks Nutz and then home to bed.

Day 3 - It has only just begun, and watching the sunrise always leads me to thinking how grateful I am to be able to visit this island, and happily anticipate the day ahead.
Today we will brave the Sindhu market ladies and lunch at Tootsies, then tomorrow a day trip is planned to Lovina, stay tuned!
